The BLIMP
SSWFAG will be flying a blimp as a height marker, to
indicate the height of the turbines proposed for Swinford.
- This will be a repeat operation, on weekends whenever
the weather permits.
- The location will be the northern end of the 'green road'.
- There will be a wind sock streamed from the tether,
showing the hub height.

Planning Application submitted for a turbine at North
Kilworth
The planning application has now been submitted for full
permission to erect a single wind turbine at North Kilworth.
At 125 metres high, and rated at 2.5megawatts, this is
certainly NOT a domestic machine. Where one is permitted, then
several – or even many – will surely follow. Find this hard to
believe? Then examine the advice given to wind farm developers
(click
here) to see what has been recommended.
North Kilworth residents need to become aware of the risks
this poses to their locality. To find out what to do about it,
please contact us – as a matter of urgency. |

Jeremy Clarkson at Stanford Hall
At a recent event at Stanford Hall we bumped into Jeremy
Clarkson, who was filming an item for Top Gear. He started
chatting to Kathy about her Gyr falcon, Daniel, and as the
conversation developed it soon became apparent that he was
surprisingly well informed on the wind power debate. He joked
about how inefficient wind turbines are inland and how they
use electricity to 'brake' them when the wind is too strong.
He was also amused to relate that "in Denmark they have
covered the country with thousands of the bloody things and
they haven't managed to close down a single power station." |

Swinford Parish Council Meeting
Swinford Parish Council held an open ‘Extraordinary Meeting’
at Swinford Village Hall, with an excellent attendance from
the local community.
The Parish Council invited members of the community to raise
their concerns or support for consideration as part of their
deliberation ahead of their decision. No support in favour of
the proposed development was voiced by any member of the
attending community.
The vote by the Parish Council to object to the
proposed Swinford Wind Farm development was a unanimous one.
The Parish Council will now submit its objection in due course
in line with Harborough Council deadlines. |
